For Kathryn Hall, art and architecture have long been as much a part of her life as the vineyards that surrounded her growing up in Mendocino wine country. When she and her husband Craig purchased the circa 1885 Bergfeld Winery in St. Helena in 2003, their mission became to create a place as beautiful as the wines that came from it.
The 16th Season of Festival Napa Valley opens with Carlo Ponti conducting Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Overture performed by Festival Orchestra Napa. Broadway star Ryan Silverman performs a special evening of Broadway and American Songbook classics, Home Again. Inspired by fond memories of growing up singing beloved songs with his family around the piano at home, Home Again brings Silverman’s renowned talent to audiences in an intimate setting, including a reception with wines from Castellucci Napa Valley.
Festival Napa Valley joins with Napa Valley College (NVC) Performing Arts Department of Music to co-present Musicals Go To the Movies, a musical theater revue starring acclaimed Broadway performer Ryan Silverman in a special performance alongside Napa Valley College music students.
Festival Napa Valley adds a musical element to the 2022 Napa Lighted Art Festival exhibition of Hybycozo’s Lightforms at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Napa on the evening of Saturday, March 5 with a live, one-hour sound bath percussion performance at 7pm by Ward Spangler.
With a stellar cast of opera greats including baritone Lester Lynch, soprano Marnie Breckenridge, tenor Nathan Granner, and bass-baritone Kevin Short this innovative re-imagining of opera-on-film, as directed by Brian Staufenbiel and conducted by Nicole Paiement, is presented in partnership with New York City Opera.
