Heralded by the Dallas Morning News as an artist who "displays a voice of silken loveliness as well as graceful agility," Michele Angelini made his European operatic debut at the world famous Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Italy as Conte di Libenskof in Il viaggio a Reims and thrills audiences on leading international stages in the operatic repertoire. Nominated as Best Young Male Singer of the Year at the 2016 International Opera Awards, Michele Angelini’s 2019-20 season evidences his emergence onto international stages as one of the leading lirico-leggiero tenors before the public. 

A highlight of recent seasons was performing the title role of Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden with Sir John Eliot Gardner and the English Baroque Soloists in a new production co-directed by Hofesh Shechter and John Fulljames, reprised in concert with Maestro Gardiner and his ensembles at the famous Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and the Opéra Royal in Versailles. Angelini made his MET Opera debut as Ruodi in the company’s new production of Guillaume Tell conducted by Fabio Luisi.

Angelini’s concert work featured a Rheingau Musik Festival debut in performances of Rossini’s Stabat Mater with Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada conducting the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra for Washington Concert Opera. His awards include First Prize in the 2010 Savonlinna Opera Festival International Singing Competition, First Prize in the 2012 Gerda Lissner Foundation Singing Competition, Top Prize in the 2013 Opera Index Award, and an Encouragement Award in the memory of Charles Anthony from the George London Foundation.

Angelini is a graduate of Ohio State University, holding degrees in both Vocal and Bassoon Performance.
