Novack Concert for Kids: At the Foot of Winter's Mountain a musical tale with pianist Audrey Vardanega and shadow puppets, at Charles Krug

Doors open at 10:30 am

Pianist Audrey Vardanega takes the stage for this stop-animated puppet show and musical performance combining story, music, and natural sounds. Vardanega performs pieces from Tales of the Boatman, an exciting series created by multi-instrumentalist, storyteller, and shadow puppeteer Chris Rippey that tackles themes of myth, magic, music, and nature. 

This concert is dedicated to the memory of Thelma Schnitzer.

Novack Concerts for Kids are intended for families with children and school-aged children participating in day camps. Adults may only attend if they are accompanied by a child or a group of children. For more information or group reservations, please email or call our box office.

Praised as a “musically eloquent” player (San Francisco Classical Voice) with a “bewitching musical presence” (The Piedmont Post), Audrey Vardanega has performed as a solo and collaborative pianist across Europe, China, and the United States. She is the founder and artistic director of Musaics of the Bay, a nonprofit chamber music series dedicated to music mentorship in the Bay Area.

Napa Valley’s oldest winery, Charles Krug has been owned and operated by the Peter Mondavi, Sr. family for four generations.  The winery’s award winning newly restored Redwood Cellar Tasting Room and Hospitality Center is a warm, inviting space blending heritage with contemporary design. The National Historical Landmark, originally built in 1872, features reclaimed clear heart redwood from the family’s original wine tanks, stone and open beam construction, windows on the working Family Reserve cellar, and a large welcoming bar and lounge.
