On May 24, 1976, eleven judges gathered at Le Grand Hôtel InterContinental in Paris for a blind tasting that shook the wine world. The Judgment of Paris — Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer's groundbreaking new opera premiering at Festival Napa Valley this summer – brings that moment to the stage at Versailles. This eight-day journey places you at the heart of the story.

You’ll check into Le Grand Hôtel InterContinental, where it all began fifty years ago, and spend five days discovering Paris at its most magnificent. The experience begins with a champagne reception followed by a dinner cruise along the Seine, gliding past the illuminated landmarks of the City of Light. You’ll then journey to Abbaye de Royaumont, the breathtaking 13th-century Cistercian abbey where the ancient and the avant-garde have long coexisted, for a private concert and dinner.

Throughout the week, you’ll enjoy privileged access and guided visits to the city's great monuments and museums, private shopping experiences, dining at celebrated restaurants and hidden culinary gems, and ample time to wander into Paris’ beloved cafes.

The crescendo arrives on April 29, when your carriage whisks you to the Palace of Versailles for a command performance of The Judgment of Paris by the Opéra Royal, in the gilded theater once beloved by Marie Antoinette herself.

First class TGV carries you southwest to Bordeaux, where the newly renovated COMO Cordeillan-Bages – a Relais & Châteaux property in the heart of Pauillac – anchors three days of extraordinary access in the Médoc. You’ll go behind the scenes at the storied Opéra National de Bordeaux, and cruise through the vineyards of Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe, pausing for a seaside lunch paired with Opus One wines. You’ll enjoy dinner at Château Dauzac, and access to Château Lynch-Bages, two of the legendary 1855 Grands Crus Classés. This is the Médoc as insiders know it – unhurried, intimate, and utterly extraordinary.

For those who live for music and wine, this is, quite simply, la crème de la crème.
