Your hosts are powerhouse mother-daughter duo Janet and Hailey Trefethen, who welcome you to their historic estate.
Janet is a true pioneer. Alongside her husband John, she helped shape Napa Valley’s rise on the global wine stage, balancing raising a family with building a world-class winery at the forefront of sustainable viticulture. A champion of the idea that wine belongs at the table alongside great food, she embraced and grew the Napa Valley Cooking Class, solidifying Napa’s reputation as an epicurean destination. Janet helped pave the way for women in wine.
Hailey has taken up that legacy with vision and passion. Along with her brother Lorenzo, she represents the next generation of the Trefethen family, leading the winery into the future. She spearheaded the restoration of their historic winery after the 2014 earthquake, drives sustainability initiatives, and represents Napa Valley on various boards.
Together, Janet and Hailey embody the resilience, innovation, and leadership that define great winemaking — and great women. Join them at this inspiring luncheon where you will enjoy a gourmet meal paired with Trefethen’s acclaimed wines. The afternoon also includes a dazzling fashion show and private shopping experience from Lafayette 148, the celebrated New York-based fashion house known for its fine craftsmanship, clean-lined tailoring, and luxurious European fabrics. Making the day even more magical, the incomparable, two-time Grammy-nominated vocalist Monica Mancini, a force in her own right, will take the stage for an intimate performance featuring beloved jazz and pop classics.

Concord Records recording artist and double GRAMMY® nominated vocalist Monica Mancini, daughter of famed film composer Henry Mancini, has carved out an impressive career as a concert performer, appearing with major symphony orchestras worldwide, including the Chicago Symphony, New York Pops, Boston Pops, Dallas Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and the London Metropolitan Orchestra.
Venue
Just north of the town of Napa, where the valley’s earliest vineyards were planted in the 1800s, is Trefethen Family Vineyards. Their historic wooden winery, built in 1886, stands sentinel over vast plantings of perfectly trellised grapevines. Gene and Katie Trefethen purchased this old winery and the surrounding vineyards in 1968. The winery was in a state of disrepair and their son John and his bride, Janet, took the challenge of restoring the old winery to become one of Napa’s foremost wine producers.
