Founded in 1988 by visionary conductor, composer, and educator Francisco J. Núñez, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City is recognized worldwide for its award-winning performances and spectacular artistry. Praised by The New York Times for its “affecting vocal beauty and impressive skill,” the ensemble performs a special program selected for the children and families of the Napa Valley.
Artists
Francisco J. Núñez, a MacArthur Fellow and Musical America’s 2018 Educator of the Year, is a composer, conductor, and leading figure in music education. In founding the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, Núñez created an awareness of the ability of young people to rise to unforeseen artistic heights.
Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) is a multicultural youth chorus, internationally renowned for its superb virtuosity, brilliant showmanship, and innovative model of diversity. Founded by Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, YPC’s spectacular artistry has been showcased in award-winning performances around the world.
