Festival Napa Valley commemorates the 100th birthday of the legendary film and television composer, Henry Mancini. His extensive repertoire boasts timeless classics such as "Moon River," "The Pink Panther Theme," and "Days of Wine and Roses." This centennial tribute features The Frost School of Music’s Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, joined by Henry’s daughter, two-time GRAMMY® nominated vocalist Monica Mancini, eight-time GRAMMY® winner Gregg Field, and Steinway piano artist and multi-GRAMMY® nominated arranger and producer Shelly Berg. This multimedia celebration includes photo and video treasures from the family archives.
Food will be available for purchase at Festival Napa Valley's Culinary Garden at Charles Krug from The Q Restaurant & Bar, Monday Bakery, and Oakville Grocery. Wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and caviar from Calvisius Caviar Co. will be available for purchase from Charles Krug.
General admission tickets are available for $35 per guest.
Performers
Concord Records recording artist and double GRAMMY® nominated vocalist Monica Mancini, daughter of famed film composer Henry Mancini, has carved out an impressive career as a concert performer, appearing with major symphony orchestras worldwide, including the Chicago Symphony, New York Pops, Boston Pops, Dallas Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and the London Metropolitan Orchestra.
Multiple GRAMMY® winner and 2010 “Producer of the Year,” Concord Records Recording Artist Gregg Field is one of the most versatile and highly sought-after producers, drummers, and educators in music. Field has served as a Recording Academy Governor and Trustee, and he currently serves as Chairman of the Board for USC Thornton School of Music.
Shelly Berg is a Steinway piano artist, multi-GRAMMY® nominated arranger and producer, and dean of The Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. He is a recipient of the IAJE Lawrence Berk Leadership Award and has been named "Educator of the Year" by the Los Angeles Jazz Society, as well as one of three "Educators for the Millennium" by the Los Angeles Times.
The Frost School of Music’s Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra is a highly-acclaimed ensemble comprised of an orchestra, jazz band, rhythm section, and percussion. The ensemble is made up of writers, arrangers, and musicians who play a multitude of musical styles, including classical, jazz, Latin, world music, and more.
