Founded in 2006 by brothers Jim and Essel Bailey and friend Tom Costin, the Knights Bridge Vineyard is nestled in the pristine, undeveloped west side of Knights Valley. Guided by a deep respect for nature, a commitment to excellence, and inspired by the volcanic soils and cooling maritime influences of the region, Kelley and Jim Bailey built Knights Bridge Winery with the singular goal of producing profound, age-worthy wines and sharing this remarkable place with winery guests.
The winery was designed by renowned architect Howard Backen and completed in mid-2021. It is the second ever built in Knights Valley and the distinctive design and thoughtful construction are perfectly in sync with the pristine vineyard landscape. Winemaker Derek Baljeu joined Knights Bridge in 2019 and became winemaker in 2021. A UC Davis graduate with both BS and MS degrees in Viticulture and Enology, Derek focuses on revealing the vineyard’s truest expression, crafting wines that are balanced, refined, and built to age.
As stewards of this land and this appellation, Knights Bridge seeks to make wines that are transparent to their estate terroir, focused on a goal to produce exceptional wines from an exceptional place. Each wine is an expression of what is possible when viticulture practices are employed perfectly in sync with the vintage, alongside deeply thoughtful winemaking intention. Guests are invited to the Estate for an immersive exploration in the vineyard and newly constructed cave and winery, and to enjoy a refined and transformative experience amid the natural, rugged beauty of Knights Valley.

Vintner's Luncheon
at Knights Bridge Winery
Great wines begin with a sense of place. At Knights Bridge, that place is Knights Valley — a dramatic landscape of volcanic soils, steep slopes, and cooling marine influences flowing inland from the Pacific, Russian River, and San Pablo Bay.
