(not so) Silent Films and
Animated Cartoon Classics

Step back in time with a family-friendly Saturday morning program of silent films and early animated cartoons brought to life on the Jarvis screen by live piano accompaniment and custom live sound effects. Enjoy early slapstick gags at their finest in The Cook (1918), directed by Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle, starring Arbuckle and Buster Keaton, and see Walt Disney’s hand-drawn precursor to Mickey Mouse — Oswald the Lucky Rabbit — in The Mechanical Cow (1922) and Trolley Troubles (1927). Selections from the Fleischer Brothers’ Koko the Clown cartoons and more round out this not to be missed adventure in early cinema fun.
