Simone McIntosh

Swiss-Canadian mezzo-soprano Simone McIntosh is a graduate of the Adler Fellowship Program with San Francisco Opera and the Canadian Opera Company’s Ensemble Studio. She was also a member of Opernhaus Zürich’s International Opera Studio and was a Song Prize Finalist at the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. McIntosh’s additional honors include first prize laureate for the Concours Musical International de Montréal Aria Division, second prize winner and best mezzo-soprano of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, and the 2022 Igor Gorin Memorial Award.

Simone's 2025-2026 season contains a diverse array of engagements across Europe, where she makes debuts at the Concertgebouw, Hamburgische Staatsoper, and Teatro Real Madrid. She also makes her role debut as Adalagisa in Norma in Bern and returns to the Scottish Opera to sing Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro. McIntosh’s other recent projects include doubling for Offred in The Handmaid’s Tale at San Francisco Opera. An avid lover of art song and recital work, McIntosh seeks challenges in repertoire. She is dedicated to exposing audiences to music and experiences they may not have had before, and notable pieces in her repertoire include Messiaen’s rarely performed Harawi, as well as American composer John Harbison’s Motetti di Montale
