Sandra Bouissou, violin

Sandra Bouissou is a versatile and accomplished violinist and educator whose dedication spans solo, orchestral, and chamber music. Originally from California’s Bay Area, Sandra is based in New York City, where is a substitute musician on Broadway and performs with ensembles across the tri-state area such as the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra and New Haven Symphony Orchestra. Sandra's musical journey has included studies at renowned festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival, the International Summer Academy in Saltzburg’s Mozarteum, Fontainebleau’s School of the Arts Music Program, and Festival Napa Valley. She has performed at eminent venues, including David Geffen Hall and Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall. 

Equally influential in her life as performing is Sandra’s passion for teaching. She is an avid proponent of teaching music not only for instrumental learning, but also a way to develop self-discipline, creativity, problem solving, focus and concentration, self-expression, and critical thinking. Sandra studied at the San Francisco Conservatory Pre-College program and Chapman University, from which she received a bachelor’s degree and where she was a Temianka Scholar, with the privilege of playing on the Temianka-Saparoff Violin. She is also a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, where she received a master’s degree and professional studies certificate.
