Ricky Matute

Ricky Matute is a Latin GRAMMY® Award-winning percussionist and composer from Barranquilla, Colombia. He graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Film Scoring and Contemporary Writing and Production with a minor in Video Game Scoring after receiving a full tuition scholarship from the college and being the recipient of the Gifted Scholarship given by the Latin GRAMMY® Cultural Foundation. Ricky has extensive experience as a percussionist in different genres and has played in venues and events around Latin America and the United States, such as the Latin GRAMMY’S® Person of the Year Gala 2019, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and Barranquijazz Festival. In addition to this, he was invited as an artist to the Cordoba Drum Camp in Argentina to teach a master class about Colombian percussion instruments and rhythms.
