Pianist and vocal coach Noah Lindquist is assistant conductor at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. In his private studio he has coached singers heard on the stages of the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Oper Frankfurt, and Opernhaus Zürich, among others. Lindquist is also in demand as a guest coach at Young Artist programs and has coached the young artists of the Ryan Opera Center, San Francisco Opera’s Adler Fellows, and Hawai’i Opera Theatre’s Orvis Studio.
Active as a performer and recitalist, Lindquist has appeared with Matthew Polenzani, Quinn Kelsey, Michael Fabiano and Kathryn Lewek, and at venues such as Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall and Merkin Hall, Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall, and Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium. In the summer of 2016, Lindquist recorded with Ana Maria Martinez for Amazon’s Emmy-winning Mozart in the Jungle, and their collaboration is featured throughout the soundtrack to the third season.
This past season, Lindquist moved to virtual work, coaching the San Francisco Opera’s Adler Fellows, and coaching and teaching the young artists at Hawai’i Opera Theatre as well as preparing their digital season. This summer, as outdoor activity has resumed, Lindquist is playing and conducting Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Hansel and Gretel in the park.
Lindquist earned his M.M. from the Mannes College of Music studying with Cristina Stanescu. After participating in the Merola Opera Program, Lindquist continued his training at San Francisco Opera’s Adler Fellowship. He also holds a B.A. from Williams College in Chemistry and Music.
