Minghao Liu

Minghao Liu is an emerging tenor leggero praised for his easy and powerful high notes and polished bel canto musicality. During the 2025-2026 season, Liu makes debuts with the Glyndebourne Festival, Merola Opera Program, Opera Philadelphia, and Opera Omaha. Active in Florida, Liu participated in four programs at the Frost School of Music, all under full scholarship, and he has appeared with Opera Naples, Opera Tampa, St. Petersburg Opera, Miami Music Festival, and Gulfshore Opera. In concert, Liu has appeared at Carnegie Hall and with the Savannah Philharmonic, and he has participated in the Sherrill Milnes Voice Experience Program and Savannah Voice Festival. 

In competitions, Liu has won top prizes, including those at the Opera Naples Luciano Pavarotti Competition, Opera Index Vocal Competition, SAS Annual Vocal Competition, D'Angelo Young Artist Vocal Competition, Pesaro International Music Competition, and Camille Coloratura Awards. Born in Qingdao, China, Liu is fluent in English, Russian, and Chinese. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the S.S. Prokofiev Music Conservatory in Donetsk, Ukraine and continued his studies at the University of Alberta, Canada and Franz Schubert Institute in Baden, Austria.
