Katherine “Kat” Fong is a violinist, mother, and entrepreneur based on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. She has been a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 2000, performing in one of the world’s leading operatic ensembles for more than 25 years. In addition to her orchestral work, Fong is Executive Director of the Second Ending Ensemble and co-founder of Luxitune, a company creating bejeweled fine tuners for stringed instruments.
A native of Amarillo, Texas, Fong began playing the violin at age four and trained at the New England Conservatory and the Juilliard School. She currently balances an active performance schedule with life as a mother to two children, and she remains committed to artistic excellence, entrepreneurship, and mentoring the next generation of musicians.
