Annabelle Sweet

Annabelle Sweet is a Kansas City-based third-year Voice and Opera Performance undergraduate student at Northwestern University, where she studies with Patrice Michaels. Sweet recently placed 2nd in the 2026 Opera Grand Rapids Vanderlaan Prize and was named a Winner of the 2026 Upper Division Undergraduate Schmidt Vocal Competition, along with her previous win in the 2024 Lower Division Undergraduate Schmidt Vocal Competition. Her recent engagements include Chorus/Dancer in Carmen, Co-Director, Producer, and Choreographer for Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld for Opera Projects for Undergraduate Students (OPUS NU), and Marcellina in Le Nozze di Fígaro with Bach Millennium Music. This spring, she will work as Assistant Director and perform as Lolette for Northwestern Opera Theatre’s production of La Rondine. This summer, Sweet will attend the Festival Napa Valley Manetti Shrem Opera Program, where she will perform Joanne (2nd cover) and Chorus in the world premiere of The Judgment of Paris by Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer.
