Annabelle Sweet is a third year Voice and Opera Performance undergraduate student from Kansas City, Missouri, and studies with Patrice Michaels. She won First in her category in the Midwest Regional National Association of Teaching and Singing (NATS) competition in 2023, as well as being named a Schmidt Vocal Competition Winner in January of 2024 in the Undergraduate Lower Division. Her recent engagements include performing as Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro with Bach Millenium Music in Santa Clara, California. In the summer of 2024, she performed as L’Enfant in L'enfant et les Sortilèges, Flora in La Traviata, and Second Daughter in Beauty and the Beast with Opera in the Ozarks in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. With Northwestern University, she performed as Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance with Opera Productions for Undergraduate Students (OPUS), Praskowia in The Merry Widow and Nutrice from L'incoronazione di Poppea with the Ryan Opera Theatre. This upcoming fall, she will be co-directing Northwestern’s Opera Projects for Undergraduate Singers (OPUS) production of Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach.
