With Sergio Leone’s signature visual style, Once Upon a Time in the West is defined by Morricone’s haunting whistles and dramatic melodies. This film is a sweeping Western set in the dying days of the Old West, where a struggle to control water in a dusty desert town entangles three hardened gunmen in an epic clash of greed, honor, and revenge.
Festival Napa Valley presents celebrates Ennio Morricone’s groundbreaking contributions to the Spaghetti Western. Widely considered as a landmark of cinema, A Fistful of Dollars launched the Spaghetti Western genre in 1964. With an iconic performance by Clint Eastwood and Sergio Leone’s signature visual style, the film is defined by Morricone’s haunting whistles and dramatic melodies.
The Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra takes the stage at this scenic Carneros estate for a program of baroque gems, as well as the Festival’s Opus One Premiere by Forrest Eimold, the 2025 Maria Manetti Shrem Daniel Brewbaker Composer Prizewinner.
