Legendary jazz and R&B singer Patti Austin returns to Festival Napa Valley joining the Frost School of Music All-Stars to light up the stage performing favorite works by two legendary American composers, Henry Mancini and George Gershwin. Mancini's musical genius has produced timeless classics such as "Moon River" and the "Pink Panther Theme," while Gershwin's contributions to American music include the iconic "Rhapsody in Blue" and "An American in Paris." This concert celebrates one of America’s quintessential art forms. Directed by Gregg Field and Gordon Goodwin.

Frost School at Festival Napa Valley is a multiyear partnership with the University of Miami, featuring Frost School of Music faculty and students playing a lead role in the Festival’s university-level educational, chamber music, and orchestral music programming.

Patti Austin’s keen interest in being a total entertainer started when she stepped onto the stage of the world-famous Apollo Theater in Harlem at the age of four at the urging of music legend Dinah Washington. The daughter of jazz trombonist Gordon Austin, she was a recording star in her teens, achieving her first chart success in 1969 with “The Family Tree,” a Top 50 R&B single.
Multiple GRAMMY® winner and 2010 “Producer of the Year,” Concord Records Recording Artist Gregg Field is one of the most versatile and highly sought-after producers, drummers, and educators in music. Field has served as a Recording Academy Governor and Trustee, and he currently serves as Chairman of the Board for USC Thornton School of Music.
Having amassed 21 Grammy nominations, four Grammy wins and three Emmy wins, Gordon Goodwin is the most decorated big band leader in the 21st century. He is leader of Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, an internationally known ensemble with a reputation as one of the most exciting large ensembles in jazz.
