Tracy Sweeney has spent nearly two decades in the Napa Valley luxury wine industry, most recently as Vice President of Direct-to-Consumer for Treasury Wine Estates' Napa Valley brands Beaulieu Vineyards, Beringer, Etude, Frank Family Vineyards, Stags’ Leap Winery, and Sterling. In that position, she oversaw all aspects of luxury cellar door hospitality and direct sales. She is now taking on a new venture into the low and non-alcoholic beverage world, serving as a Managing Partner at Tomorrow Cellars.
Prior to Treasury, Tracy has acquired extensive business experience across multiple industries. She got her start in the wine industry at E & J Gallo Winery in On-Premise and National Account sales and from there went on to work in Financial Services and Transportation. Tracy spent nearly a decade with Continental Airlines in Houston, Texas, where she held a variety of senior level roles across sales and marketing. Tracy credits this time in her career as some of the most influential, allowing her to hone her organizational management experience working for the airline during a period of intense turnaround activity and learning from some of the industry’s most iconic business leaders.
In 2000, a job opportunity for her husband prompted relocation to the Napa Valley. After settling her young family into their new home and renovating a 1904 historical Craftsman property in downtown St. Helena, Tracy returned to her professional roots and re-entered the wine industry. She operated a consulting business managing consumer programs at a variety of wine producers including Quintessa and Corison until joining Treasury Wine Estates full time in 2015.
Tracy is originally from Columbus, Ohio, where she still has family. She continues to reside in St. Helena, with her husband, Jim Sweeney, a long time professional in the beverage alcohol industry and currently Executive Vice President for Humboldt Distillery. Tracy has two adult children: James, who works for Softbank Group and lives in Brooklyn, New York, and Clare, who works for Google in San Francisco and lives in Sonoma.
Tracy has served the Napa Valley community in a variety of roles, including St. Helena City Planning Commissioner and Chamber of Commerce Vice Chair, and through fundraising and development for various schools and non-profits. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Arizona State University and a Master of Business Administration from National University.
