If the image of actor Bill Murray reading aloud from Breakfast at Tiffany’s while accompanied by chamber music sounds like a delightful hallucination, then it’s time to wake up to the dreamy reality that is Festival Napa Valley. From July 14 through 23, the annual confluence of culture treats locals and visitors alike to a 10-day medley of fine dining, exclusive tastings, and memorable performances within California’s renowned winegrowing region.

Gloria Estefan, Bill Murray, Joshua Bell, Stéphane Denève and André Watts and the Havana Chamber Orchestra are among the artists taking part in Festival Napa Valley on July 14–23.

Festival Napa Valley, the annual summer celebration recognized for transforming California’s wine country into a cultural destination, announced the lineup for its 12th edition, July 14 – 23, 2017.

Though each of the ten evening events at Festival 2016 was extraordinary, the one honoring Margrit Mondavi at the Far Niente Winery was to journalist Jeanne Lawrence the most extraordinary of all. [Download PDF]

Festival Napa Valley continued its support of public school arts education awarding $225,000 in grants at its annual Arts for All Grant Ceremony. 2016 grant recipients include Arts Council Napa Valley Education Alliance, Napa Valley Education Foundation, Napa County Office of Education, Napa Valley Youth Symphony and Lincoln Theater’s Artist in Residence Program.

"Like a fine wine, Sophia Loren just gets better with age! 'When you are 20 years old, you don't think you will turn 80, but when you do, you still can't believe it,' notes the timeless beauty, 81, who wowed guests when she attended a gala thrown at the Far Niente Winery in Oakville, Calif., on July 23."

"Pitch Perfect. Kristin Chenoweth belted out a few tunes at the Castello di Amorosa winery on the opening night of Festival Napa Valley."

"When actress Sophia Loren recently landed in Napa Valley from Zurich, her luggage didn’t follow. Yet she was so determined to attend a Festival Napa Valley dinner honoring her friend, arts philanthropist Margrit Mondavi, that she briefly considered borrowing the pajamas of her son, conductor Carlo Ponti. Thankfully, Loren’s luggage arrived just before dinner. And Mondavi, who just celebrated her 91st birthday, delighted 250 guests at this Far Niente Winery finale of the 2016 festival in her honor."

"The Napa Valley: what better place on earth could you go to celebrate the fusion of the fine arts paired up for 12 days with world-class culinary experiences and amazing wine?"

"Festival Napa Valley just wrapped up 10 glorious days of music, wine, food and art. This beloved cultural event featured 60 events that celebrated the superstars of opera, symphony, dance, theater, wine, food and art."
