Summer

A mother fennec fox paws at the ground;
Scrounging for insects and plants for her kit;
But someone she does not see makes no sound
For the shrewd eagle owl is full of wit.

Summer has opened his eyes once again;
Making predators and prey fight for life;
And with his heat there is no question when
The animals will endure pain and strife. (conflict)

The fennec foxes see death left and right;
Hoping that their luck will keep them alive;
For summer needs food for his appetite
And the owl needs energy to survive.

Summer needs survival of the fittest
But the torments and droughts, sad to witness.
