Girl standing before a wall.

Willow Tree

Here to yonder pond in light wind of a spring
Amidst the doves and with the tiny bee
My heart is bursting with the need to sing
Beneath the leafy weeping willow tree

She is fair and mild with a smile so bright
The clear blue sky is where her eyes show rest
Wrap her head in daisy chains because it’s right
To feel the love beat in my young breast

Her head resting ‘mong the soft vert meadow
Imagine sitting with her and the bee
With band around her finger I bestow
Dressed in white beneath the willow tree

Here will I beseech for her hand with glee
Beneath a leafy weeping willow tree
