The Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra takes the stage at this scenic Carneros estate for a program of baroque gems, as well as the Festival’s Opus One Premiere by Forrest Eimold, the 2025 Maria Manetti Shrem Daniel Brewbaker Composer Prizewinner. Known for his bold, intricate compositions and collaborations with leading contemporary ensembles, Eimold has been hailed as “incredible” and “fearless” (The Boston Musical Intelligencer) and praised by The Washington Post for having “ably responded to the many virtuosic demands" of today’s compositional vanguard.

2025 Maria Manetti Shrem Daniel Brewbaker Composer Prizewinner
Composer-keyboardist Forrest Eimold has had his works premiered by renowned ensembles such as the Choir of Trinity Wall Street, Ensemble Dal Niente, Fonema Consort, Mivos Quartet, and Wet Ink Ensemble. His writing embraces our quantized environment in the hopes of pointing to the unbound world latent within it.
The Royal Opera of the Château de Versailles presents one hundred performances each season, graced by great names and international performers on its prestigious stage. Created in 2019 for John Corigliano’s opera The Ghosts of Versailles, the orchestra champions a wide repertoire ranging from Baroque to Classical to Romantic.

Just past the estate’s long entrance, the olive grove of 3,000 olive trees extend their warm welcome. Your eyes take in the dreamy San Pablo Bay miles away, then of rolling hills and vineyards all around the 50-acre property. Your ears, as the symphony begins, will absorb harmonies inside our chandelier-filled barn and tall rafters. “Olive Hill” is honored to be hosting another fabulous performance for Festival Napa Valley.
