Violinist and visionary Étienne Gara and members of his trailblazing ensemble Delirium Musicum wow students with Halloween-inspired selections from the full orchestra’s upcoming album, Cabinet of Curiosities. The morning features a daring fusion of old-world virtuosity and modern edge, performed with the string ensemble’s trademark intensity and flair.
This concert is made possible by the generous support of Kenneth and Deborah Novack.
Performers
Violin virtuoso Etienne Gara and members of Delirium Musicum represent their L.A.-based, self-conducted chamber orchestra that pulses with ferocious passion, disrupting expectations and redefining “classical” music as the new red-hot concert experience. Coming from ten countries on four continents, the members of the ensemble represent the next wave of classical, multifaceted musicians.
Artist in Residence at The Soraya and at USC's Brain and Creativity Institute, Etienne is a French-Hungarian graduate of the New England Conservatory, and ended his student career of more than 11 years at USC with Midori Goto.
