The Royal Opera of Versailles makes its North American debut in this spectacular evening featuring Donizetti’s La Fille du régiment. This perennially popular opera follows the irrepressible Marie — a spirited orphan raised by a regiment of French soldiers. She falls for the dashing Tonio, only to face a whirlwind of obstacles, from war and aristocratic expectations to an unexpected twist of fate. With Marie’s dazzling coloratura passages and Tonio’s famous aria featuring nine thrilling high Cs, the production bursts with humor, romance, and vocal fireworks. Stunning costumes by renowned fashion designer Christian Lacroix make this Jean-Romain Vesperini directed production a show not to be missed.
The evening begins with a festive reception in the Patron Lounge, offering patron passholders a chance to mingle before the performance. General Admission ticket holders can enjoy Charles Krug wines available for purchase. During intermission, patrons will enjoy an elegant dining experience in the Patron Lounge and General Admission guests can explore a variety of options on offer in the Festival’s Culinary Garden. A dessert reception for patrons closes out the night on a sweet note.

Performers
French conductor and organist Gaétan Jarry is the founder of the Marguerite Louise ensemble, a Baroque choir and orchestra. Jarry is also one of the principal guest conductors of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera of Versailles and has a celebrated discography dedicated primarily to French Baroque repertoire.
French vocalist Eléonore Pancrazi is a celebrated mezzo-soprano, having won awards at the Marmande, Béziers, Nîmes, Arles, UPMCF, and Musiques au Cœur du Médoc competitions. She has been a member of the Studio Opéra de Lyon, Aix en Provence Academy, and of Opéra Comique de Paris Youth Academy.
Baritone Jean-Gabriel Saint Martin began his musical journey with the Children's Choir of the Paris Opera. His studies led him to obtain a master’s degree in law, but following this, he joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse and has established himself as a sought-after artist.
Soprano Manon Lamaison is an alum of La Sorbonne in Paris, the University of Montreal, and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Lyon. She has been a member of the Ravel Academy and Philippe Jaroussky Academy, and she appears as a duo with pianist Mickaël Lipari-Mayer.
Belgian singer Patrick Bolleire trained as a pianist, but originally pursued a career as an engineer. After dedicating himself to music at age 27, he went on to win second prize at the International Canari Lyrical Song Competition and second prize at the Concours International de Marmande.
Born in Madagascar, Sahy Ratia studied voice at the Conservatoire national Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and went on to join the Opéra Fuoco studio under David Stern. A recipient of the ADAMI Classical Revelation award, Ratia is in demand as a tenor worldwide.
The Royal Opera of the Château de Versailles presents one hundred performances each season, graced by great names and international performers on its prestigious stage. Created in 2019 for John Corigliano’s opera The Ghosts of Versailles, the orchestra champions a wide repertoire ranging from Baroque to Classical to Romantic.
Jean-Romain Vesperini is a widely acclaimed artistic director and producer of operatic performances on stages from La Scala to Paris, from The Bolshoi to Monte Carlo. A trained baritone, he is deeply connected to music, with a unique awareness of what a score brings to dramaturgy.
