Inspired by the whimsical artwork of Seward Johnson, which celebrates the beauty of everyday life, Festival Napa Valley invites you to take a page from his colorful playbook and create some artwork of your own. Under the skilled guidance of artist Kristina Young, you will paint a plate or tray from home, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Johnson’s virtuosic and joyful style is familiar to many in Napa Valley. His life-size sculptures are on display at Festival Napa Valley Partner Winery B Cellars and as part of the Yountville Art Walk. An admission-free exhibition of Johnson’s tray paintings will be on view at Yountville’s Steve Rogers Gallery, July 3 through September 5, 2025.
Admission-free. Reservations are recommended.
Workshop participants are asked to bring a tray or plate no larger than 12” to turn into an art piece. All other workshop materials will be provided. No prior artmaking experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing that can get messy or stained.
A Festival Napa Valley Arts for All program. Additional support provided by the Town of Yountville.
