Bass Theodore McAlindon is in his second year of Royal Academy Opera, where he studies with Mark Wildman and Jonathan Papp. He began singing with Ely Cathedral Choir and the Opera North Youth Company and previously completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Academy. At the Academy, Theodore has sung Sprecher/Zweiter geharnischter Mann in Die Zauberflöte and Azarias in The Burning Fiery Furnace and performed in opera scenes as Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, Baculus in Der Wildschütz and Falstaff in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor. Other operatic highlights include singing in the chorus for Parsifal, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Tristan und Isolde, Götterdämmerung and Lohengrin at the Bayreuther Festspiele and for Aida with the Royal Ballet and Opera; singing Benoît and Alcindoro in La Bohème at the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute in Montreal under the tutelage of Etienne Dupuis; covering Father Trulove in The Rake’s Progress at The Grange Festival; and premiering a number of contemporary opera works at Tête à Tête festival.
