Sahy Ratia

Born in Madagascar, Sahy Ratia studied voice at the Conservatoire national Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Soon after, he joined the Opéra Fuoco studio under David Stern. He gained recognition early in his career performing Nemorino in L'Elisir d'amore at the Opéra d'Avignon, followed by his debut as Pâris in La Belle Hélène at the St. Gallen Theatre. During the pandemic, he recorded the role of Georges Brown in La Dame blanche by Boieldieu with La Co[opéra]tive.

In 2020, Ratia received the ADAMI Classical Revelation award, a prestigious French distinction, and the following season, he performed roles such as Kornélis in La Princesse jaune and Haroun in Djamileh. He debuted at the Berlin Staatsoper as Marzio in Mitridate and continues to expand his repertoire, performing at venues such as the Opéra Comique, the Opéra de Toulon, and the Opéra de Nice.

Ratia has also been involved in numerous concert performances, including Mozart's Requiem and Great Mass in C minor. In 2024, he opened the season for Opéra de Lausanne in Guillaume Tell, and in 2025, he will perform the role of Ghandi in the French premiere of Philip Glass’s Satyagraha at the Opéra de Nice.
