Ruijia Dong

Ruijia Dong is a mezzo-soprano. She has the upcoming role Simone in the La Passion de Simone project by Mannes Opera, with past roles including Ruggiero (Alcina) and Mercedes (Carmen) in performances with Mannes School of Music (NYC), Opera Delaware, and Beijing’s Central Academy of Drama. She has also excelled in opera scenes including Hansel (Hansel and Gretel) at Opera San Antonio and concerts such as “Mannes Opera in the Greene Space” (NYC) and baroque solo recitals. Educated at Mannes (2026 Master of Music in Voice) and Central Academy of Drama (2024 Bachelors of Arts in Opera Acting), she was an Opera San Antonio Apprentice Artist. Her awards include the 2024 Met Opera Laffont District Competition Encouragement Award and 2020 2nd Prize in the Korea & China International Music Competition. She has studied under voice teachers Arthur Levy and collaborated with notable conductors, coaches, and directors.
