Pablo Rieppi

Pablo Rieppi, originally from Uruguay, is a distinguished presence in New York’s music scene, where he is revered for his artistry across multiple musical genres. A tenured member of the New York City Ballet Orchestra, he also serves as Percussion Department Coordinator and Faculty at The Juilliard School's Pre-College Division and Music Advancement Program, and recently joined the faculty at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. 

Mr. Rieppi is a frequent guest with the New York Philharmonic and has performed with many of New York City’s most esteemed ensembles. His Broadway credits include West Side Story, The King and I, and Legally Blonde. He can be heard on numerous film soundtracks including Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, Gemini Man, You’ve Got Mail, Noah, and Il Postino. His collaborations with legendary artists such as Joe Zawinul, Aretha Franklin, and The Who further attest to his adaptability. 

Mr. Rieppi has held faculty positions at Hofstra University, SUNY Purchase, Oberlin Conservatory, and Columbia University. As the founder of Percussion On The Sound (POTS!), a distinguished pre-collegiate ensemble, and a faculty member at The Percussion Conservatory, he constantly finds avenues to inspire young percussionists. 

His compositions include the soundtrack for Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story and Rage and Peace for percussion ensemble. His esteemed pedagogical contributions include Snare Drum Technique: Essential Basics for Daily Practice, recognized in Percussive Notes Magazine (March 2015), and 12 Modern Timpani Solos, which features The Rite, a required piece for the New Jersey All-State auditions. Other published works include Rhythmic Roots and Accompaniment Music for Solo Snare Drum, Vol. 1

Mr. Rieppi holds degrees from The Juilliard School and George Mason University and an Honorary Doctorate from Five Towns College. He is an artist endorser for Innovative Percussion, Yamaha and Zildjian, and serves as President of the Percussive Arts Society, New York Chapter.
