Natasha Adorlee

Natasha Adorlee

A first-generation Asian American woman, Natasha Adorlee’s work is shaped by questions of inheritance, memory, and endurance. She embeds identity structurally, using light, atmosphere, musical architecture, and the body as a carrier of generational experience. Her choreography is known for its clarity of form, cinematic pacing, and the fusion of classical technique with grounded, rhythmic movement languages drawn from street and contemporary dance traditions.

She began choreographing in 2016 while maintaining a performance career with Robert Moses’ Kin, Kate Weare and Company, ODC/Dance, and San Francisco Symphony. Her short film Take Your Time won more than ten international awards in 2018, including Best Short at San Francisco Dance Film Festival.

Natasha has been commissioned by Joffrey Ballet’s Winning Works, Kansas City Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Richmond Ballet, BalletX, Oklahoma City Ballet, Ceprodac in Mexico City, Kawaguchi Ballet in Japan, Ballare Carmel, Ballet22, and Imagery. She has created original work for Pixar Animation Studios, Oculus, National Geographic, and The New Yorker.

In 2024, she received the Grand Prize at the Palm Desert Choreography Festival, an NEA Grant, and a Jacob’s Pillow Choreographic Fellowship; upcoming projects include new works for Tulsa Ballet, San Francisco Symphony, Richmond Ballet, Boulder Ballet, large-scale film, and immersive projects.

Natasha is a dedicated educator and mentor. She teaches Dance on Camera workshops internationally and serves as Artistic Advisor for Ballet22.
