Lisa Conway, a native of Philadelphia, is the second horn of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with the Boston Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Montreal Symphony, and Philadelphia Orchestra. Prior to her appointment in Cincinnati, she was a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. An enthusiastic chamber musician and educator, Conway teaches at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music and serves on the faculty of the CSO Brass Institute. Her Cincinnati chamber music appearances include the Linton Chamber Music Series, concert:nova, and regular performances in the CSO’s Winstead Chamber Series. Summer activities have included appearances with the Sun Valley Music Festival, Festival Mozaic, and the Britt Music Festival, as well as teaching at the Interlochen Horn Intensive Academy.
Conway earned her bachelor’s degree from Yale University, graduating magna cum laude, and completed her master’s degree at the Juilliard School, where she studied with William Purvis. She makes her home in Cincinnati with her husband, two young sons, and Siberian Forest kitten.
