Jeffrey McFarland-Johnson

Cellist Jeffrey McFarland-Johnson has been a musical presence in Napa Valley for nearly four decades. With pianist Terry Winn, Jeffrey performs for myriad events as the Napa Valley Duo. He has recorded and produced five albums including the first three Bach Cello Suites and his own arrangement of Gershwin’s An American In Paris for cello and piano. In addition, Jeffrey maintains a studio of exceptional music students, and he wrote a four-volume series of method books illustrating the harmonic blueprint of string instruments tuned in fourths and fifths. Jeffrey received his bachelor’s in cello performance from the University of the Pacific and his master’s in composition from the University of California, San Diego, with additional studies under Arto Noras at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland.
