Baritone Jean-Gabriel Saint Martin began his musical journey with the Children's Choir of the Paris Opera under Francis Bardot and continued his vocal training with Nicole Fallien. His studies led him to obtain a master’s degree in private law, but following this, he joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in Pierre Mervant's class. Saint Martin also perfected his skills in early music with Michèle Ledroit at the Strasbourg Regional Conservatory and further studied with Noëlle Barker and Lionel Sarrazin.
Saint Martin was a member of the Opéra National du Rhin's Studio and the Opéra de Lyon's Nouveau Studio. He was named “Classical Revelation Lyrical Artist” by ADAMI in 2011 and made his stage debut at the Opéra National de Paris in 2012 in Handel's Giulio Cesare.
Saint Martin has performed at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and Radio-France/Occitanie Festival, and he has worked with leading baroque ensembles such as Le Concert d’Astrée, Les Musiciens du Louvre, and Le Poème Harmonique. He has performed at many prestigious opera houses across France and regularly collaborates with renowned directors and conductors. Recent highlights include Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera of Versailles and Winterreise at the Tours Opera.
