Elizabeth Fowler

Elizabeth Fowler

After training at the School of American Ballet, Elizabeth Fowler enjoyed a 16-year career as a professional ballet dancer. Upon retirement from the stage, she became a nationally recognized teacher of dance-supportive disciplines and modalities. Building upon 40 years in the ballet trenches, she continues to advise dancers and professional companies and is sought after for her nuanced eye, expertise in body mechanics, and devotion to dancer’s physical, economic, and mental health.

Fowler currently serves on the board of Los Angeles Ballet, through which she has vast responsibilities with a focus on expanding the audience of classical ballet to a younger and more diverse population. She strongly believes that classical ballet will be sustained by connecting dance and dancers with the broader community.

Elizabeth is also an advocate for artists and serves as a mentor to several Los Angeles Ballet company dancers. She is deeply committed to the future of ballet and preservation of the art form, bringing strategic vision and a willingness to do whatever is necessary to ensure the success of every aspect of artistic endeavors.
