Dr. Vincent Pierce

Dr. Vincent Pierce is a professional harpist, teacher, composer, and harp technician. A co-owner of California Harp Center, he oversees harp maintenance, educational programming, and events as Chief Programs Officer. He performs throughout Northern California as an orchestral harpist, including with the Oakland, Berkeley, California, Marin, Stockton, and Santa Rosa Symphonies, Symphony San Jose, San Jose Chamber Orchestra, and Fresno Philharmonic. He maintains an active studio of adult learners, and is passionate about teaching. He is an advocate for electroacoustic harp through performance, writing new music for the instrument, and educating harpists about its myriad possibilities. Vincent is also an apprentice harp technician, helping local harpists to keep their harps healthy and happy.

Vincent holds DMA and MM degrees in Harp Performance from UT Austin, and a BME from Baylor University. In Texas, Vincent performed with orchestras throughout the state, and held positions in the Ector County and Round Rock public school programs and at UT Permian Basin and Odessa College. Notable performances include the world premiere, world tour, and album recording of John Mackey’s Wine-Dark Sea with the UT Austin Wind Ensemble, Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto with West Texas Symphony, and the Texas premiere of Caroline Lizotte’s Stellar Sonata for electroacoustic harp. As part of the Kepler Duo with Alan, Vincent premiered his original composition for electric flute and harp, Deus ex Machina, at the National Flute Association Convention in 2024.

Vincent remains active in the harp community, having served as a Regional Director and board member for the American Harp Society, as well as in numerous roles for the West Texas, Austin, and Bay Area Chapters, and is committed to fostering a strong connection among all harpists.
