Daniel Krekeler is a section bass member with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, as well as an active chamber musician and educator. Highlights of his chamber music career include those with the Tokyo String Quartet and the Knights, and as a chamber musician, he has appeared on Live From Here on NPR. Additional concert highlights include several performances of Mozart’s “Per Questa Bella Mano” and a conductor-less performance of Stravinsky’s “L’Histoire du Soldat” in close proximity to where the piece had its world premiere. Krekeler teaches at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. Outside of music, he has two children who keep life busy.
