Brian Kemble

Brian Kemble, tuba, developed a love for music as a student in Southern California and has traveled to nearly every U.S. state in search of great teachers, colleagues, and experiences in the arts. They moved to Northern California when performing with the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West. As part of the Air Force Band, they also led the Travis Brass Quintet and served as an audio/video director. In 2022, Brian shifted their musical attention to the SF Bay Area and California’s Central Valley, where they are an active freelance musician. 

Brian is the Associate Professor of Tuba at University of the Pacific, as well as the Low Brass Teaching Artist at Enriching Lives Through Music. As an educator, Brian works to show students the link between music, the arts, and our shared humanness. Brian earned degrees from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and the University of Colorado at Boulder. Their teachers include Timothy Northcut, Michael Dunn, Chris Olka, and Scott Sutherland. Before moving to California, Brian performed with the Kentucky Symphony, Steamboat Symphony, and as a guest soloist with the CCM Brass Choir.
