Blair Salter

Collaborative pianist Blair Salter is a versatile performer and music director who has worked at prestigious opera companies and young artist programs throughout North America. Blair is currently Head Coach for LA Opera's Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program and music staff at Wolf Trap Opera; she also works on the LAO music staff as an assistant conductor, prompter, and pianist. She has served as music staff at Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and Santa Fe Opera. Blair made her conducting debuts at Lyric Opera of Kansas City and Pacific Opera Project in 2025, she was a conductor at the Hart Institute for Women Conductors in 2023, and she was Music Director for Opera Theatre at Penn State from 2021-23. She is a graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, Merola Opera Program, Wolf Trap Opera, and the Glimmerglass Festival. She holds a DMA from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Martin Katz.
