Angel Ramirez

Angel Ramierez, currently a dancer with Atlanta Ballet, was born in Trinidad, Cuba and trained for eight years at the National Ballet School of Cuba in Havana, winning the gold medal in the Cuban International Ballet Competition his graduating year. Upon graduation, he was accepted into the Cuban National Ballet and performed in classics such as Giselle, Theme and Variations and Don Quixote, as well as in works by Alberto Mendez and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa.

Ramirez was invited to train at The Rock School in Philadelphia and competed in Youth American Grand Prix the following year, winning the Grand Prix Award in Philadelphia. He danced with the Georgia Ballet performing principal roles in various classical ballets. Ramirez joined Atlanta Ballet in 2021, where he has danced in lead roles in multiple ballets such as Yuri Possokhov’s Nutcracker and Balanchine’s Coppelia, as well as in works by Cathy Marston, Claudia Schreier, Yuri Possokhov, Justin Peck, Kiyon Ross, Helgi Tomasson and Stanton Welch.
