Angel Blue has emerged in recent seasons as one of the most influential sopranos today. The two-time Grammy Award winner, 2020 Beverly Sills Award recipient, and 2022 Richard Tucker Award winner is celebrated worldwide for her affecting deliveries of many beloved operatic roles, such as the title roles in Aida and Tosca, Violetta in La Traviata, Bess in Porgy and Bess, Mimì in La bohème, and Destiny/Loneliness/Greta in Terrence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones. Her 2025-2026 season starts with her performances as Bess in Houston Grand Opera's new production of Porgy and Bess. Angel also returns to the Opéra national de Paris to sing the title role in Tosca and to the Metropolitan Opera to sing both Mimì in La bohème and Liu in Turandot. On the concert stage, she performs with the Houston Symphony, at the Konzerthaus Vienna, and at the Grafenegg Festival. Blue has performed in over 40 countries including Hungary, Kazakhstan, India, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, South Korea, China, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Brazil, and Mexico. She was raised in California and completed her musical studies at UCLA. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and son.
