“If you take art, put it into a beautiful landscape, and at the same time enjoy it with a glass of great wine, the experience is much larger than if the three are enjoyed separately...”
– Donum Estate proprietor Allan Warburg
Allan and Mei Warburg began collecting contemporary sculptures in 2015, activating their 200-acre estate as a green space gallery. Today more than 40 large-scale sculptures dot the landscape, each piece playing with nature, space, and imagination.
Sculptures from artists from East and West – including Ai Weiwei, Keith Haring, Louise Bourgeois, Jaume Plensa, Subodh Guptak, Doug Aitken and many more – create an open-air encounter with art unparalleled in its international scope and ambition, yet one that fits organically into the rolling Sonoma vineyards, with views to the mountains and San Francisco Bay beyond.
Guests at this invitation-only Donor Luncheon will be treated to a performance by cellist Sophia Bacelar, inspired by one of the extraordinary works of art. Surrounded by the beauty of the land, glasses of Donum Estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in hand, with lunch sourced by the bounty of Donum’s on-site Kicking Bull Farm, guests will fully appreciate what Warburg means when he says of his estate, “the whole is more than the sum of its parts.”
