This concert for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley is bound to be a blast, with the great Cuban band Grupo Compay Segundo onstage and swinging.
Led by legendary Cuban guitarist, singer, and songwriter Compay Segundo until his death in 2003 at the age of 95, this classic Cuban ensemble is now conducted by his son, bassist Salvador Repilado, who performed with his father on the famous Buena Vista Social Club recordings. Maracas-playing lead vocalist Hugo Garzon also joins Repilado, along with two clarinetists, two singing guitarists, a percussionist and a harmonica player.
This concert is made possible by a generous gift from Deborah and Kenneth Novack.
