When most people think of Napa Valley, world-class wineries and romantic getaways usually come to mind. Napa Valley is also an unexpectedly wonderful destination for families traveling with children. With outdoor adventures, interactive experiences, and welcoming local businesses, it offers something for visitors of all ages – especially during Festival Napa Valley’s summer season. From family-friendly concerts to a medieval castle and resorts designed with younger guests in mind, families can enjoy a vibrant mix of live music, outdoor fun, delicious food, and even select wineries that welcome young visitors. Here are some favorite spots for families looking to experience Napa Valley together.
The 2025 summer season features a new Kids Zone on Charles Krug’s Great Lawn during evening performances, where children and their families can enjoy special artmaking activities, bubbles (the soapy kind), and open space – all within view of the main stage (July 11, 12, 15, and 17-20). July also brings the popular, admission-free Novack Concerts for Kids daytime series to CIA at Copia’s Jackson Family Wines Amphitheater on July 10 and 17. With the new Choose Your Price tickets, all evening performances are accessible for the whole family. The relaxed outdoor settings at CIA at Copia and Charles Krug offer an easy, welcoming way to introduce children to live music. A special highlight: the screening of Disney’s beloved Fantasia with live orchestra on July 17.
