Summer 2024

This summer we celebrate light. The light that emanates from art, food, wine, and natural beauty. The light that ignites our imagination, enriches our lives, strengthens our community. The light that unites us.
Our programming this season illuminates the magic that happens when one generation passes the torch of artistic passion to the next. We honor the legendary actress Sophia Loren with performances by her eldest son, the conductor Carlo Ponti, and his son, pianist Vittorio Ponti. We commemorate the centennial of iconic composer Henry Mancini with a performance featuring his daughter, vocalist Monica Mancini. Soprano Pretty Yende, who makes her Festival debut, found her love of singing in the hymns taught by her grandmother. Rising star pianist Daniela Liebman draws inspiration from two accomplished musicians — her father and grandmother.
The familial ties in the performing arts world resonate deeply with the heritage of winemaking. At Charles Krug, where many of this year’s artists will perform, the Mondavi family is in its fourth generation of excellence. In wine, as in art, creativity is passed down from one generation to the next.
It doesn’t stop there.
At Festival Napa Valley, the next generation is our guiding light. That’s why we are steadfast in our commitment to making the arts accessible to all. We invest in young artists, provide educational opportunities, support aspiring musicians, and shine a spotlight on emerging talent. Whether you’re savoring a delicious meal, tasting a sublime wine, enjoying a concert under the stars, or simply marveling at the splendor of a Napa Valley sunset, you are helping us carry forward a lasting legacy.
Thank you for joining us.
