Los Angeles’ innovative BODYTRAFFIC brings a lively array of music and movement to this year’s Dance Gala. The program includes a balletic world premiere by choreographer Matthew Neenan; Trey McIntyre’s Blue Until June with songs by Etta James; and the Cuban rhythms of Joan Rodriguez’s Bloque’a, with original music by Pedro Osuna and live accompaniment by renowned cellist SUUVI and GRAMMY® winning percussionist Ricky Matute.
General admission tickets are available for $35 per guest.
Performers
BODYTRAFFIC is a nonprofit organization and internationally-renowned dance company from Los Angeles. Using the creative spirit of its Los Angeles home as a backdrop, BODYTRAFFIC curates performances and education programs that encourage audiences to explore what it means to be human through movement. Its goal is simple: get the world moving.
Pedro Osuna has earned recognition in the concert music and motion picture worlds as a sought-out composer and musical collaborator, having composed the music for the Academy Award® nominated Argentina, 1985; orchestrated for No Time To Die, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Lightyear, and composed additional music for the Academy Award® Nominated Klaus.
A Festival Napa Valley favorite, Cuban-Chinese cellist and interdisciplinary artist SUUVI (formerly Sophia Bacelar) is conversant and active in various artistic disciplines, including fashion, film, photography, and visual art. Recent projects range from a Carnegie Hall recital to video art with dancers and touring the world as the solo cellist in The World of Hans Zimmer.
