David Soar

David Soar, bass, was born in Nottinghamshire and studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio. He has recently appeared at Opernhaus Zürich, the Royal Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, and Teatro Real, among others. In demand on the concert platform, David’s recent engagements have included those with the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, and Royal Flemish Philharmonic. He has worked with renowned conductors such as Simon Rattle, Sir Andrew Davis, Masaaki Suzuki, Sir Mark Elder, John Storgards, and Esa-Pekka Salonen. His recordings include The Dream of Gerontius and Roméo et Juliette for Chandos, Stanford’s Stabat Mater for Naxos, and Adriana Lecouvreur and Stravinsky’s Threni for Opus Arte.
