FESTIVAL NAPA VALLEY AWARDS $225,000 TO BOLSTER
ARTS EDUCATION FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS

More than $850,000 Awarded Over the Past 5 Years

Napa, CA (September 26, 2016) –– Festival Napa Valley continued its support of public school arts education awarding $225,000 in grants at its annual Arts for All Grant Ceremony held today at the NVUSD District Auditorium. The 2016 grant recipients include Arts Council Napa Valley Education Alliance, Napa Valley Education Foundation, Napa County Office of Education, Napa Valley Youth Symphony and Lincoln Theater’s Artist in Residence Program. Over the past five years, the organization has awarded more than $850,000 to bolster arts education in Napa County public schools through its Arts for All initiative.

The 2016 Arts for All grant awards build upon long-term partnerships the festival has developed with community partners to create programs that ensure equal access to arts education for all public school students throughout Napa County.

“Festival Napa Valley believes art has the power to transform lives. We are proud to continue to work alongside our community partners to make arts education accessible to every student so they may achieve their maximum potential, both in the classroom and beyond,” stated Timothy Blackburn, Festival Napa Valley board chairman.

Recently, Festival Napa Valley was presented with the Shining Star Award from the California Alliance for Arts Education. The award recognizes the organization’s leadership in the creation of the county’s first-ever Arts Education Master Plan, now a model for school districts throughout California.
