Festival Napa Valley uncorks its 14th season with an evening of opera, delectable cuisine, and fine wines at Meadowood Napa Valley.
Two of the world’s most exciting opera stars, soprano Nino Machaidze and tenor Francesco Demuro, perform operatic favorites with the Festival’s Blackburn Music Academy Orchestra on the estate’s elegant Redwood Fairway.
The Georgian-born Machaidze, who made her Festival Napa Valley debut in 2011, has been called “one of the most brilliant artists of today’s young generation of singers.” Her role as Marie in Donizetti’s La Fille du Régiment at Milan’s La Scala launched her international career – and she has since made important debuts at the world’s top concert halls, including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Opéra National de Paris, and Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. The Grammy-nominated Italian tenor Demuro has an equally impressive list of accomplishments. Demuro has been celebrated for his “open, bright, superbly focused tone… reminiscent of Pavarotti" (Opera News). Demuro returns to the Festival for the third time, after his triumphant debut in 2010.
Star power, a gourmet feast prepared by Meadowood’s exceptional culinary team, and Napa’s finest wines – Festival Napa Valley starts off with a bang.
